Automatic bread slicer The invention relates to a bread slicer, in particular a device for cutting bread into slices with a loading compartment adjacent to a set of blades comprising parallel oblong blades which can be driven in a reciprocating movement in their direction. longitudinal. These slicers are mainly used in stores where a customer chooses a bread and places it in a loading compartment of the slicer in order to slice the bread. The set of blades constitutes a wall of this compartment which is accessible by an open access opening. Thus, means of detection are provided by which it is ensured that the movement of the blades is stopped when an object, such as the hand of a person, is detected in the access opening. In other slicers, according to the prior art, a cover is provided which closes the access opening while a loaf is being cut. For safety reasons, the lid cannot be opened until the bread has been cut or the movement of the blades is immediately stopped when the lid is opened. The advantage of slicers with an access opening without cover is that less handling is required to cut a loaf and that the BE2018 / 5483 cutting a bread therefore takes less time compared to a slicer with a lid. The object of the invention is, therefore, to provide a device for automatically cutting a loaf which requires less handling and which therefore makes it possible to cut a larger number of loaves per unit of time. To this end, the detection means cooperate with the drive of the blade assembly and with the drive of the pusher so that, when the presence of an object in the access opening is detected by the detection means while the pusher is in the retracted position, the movement of the blades is triggered and the pusher is moved from its retracted position to the end of cutting position after the object is no longer detected in the opening of access by means of detection. Advantageously, the detection means make it possible to generate at least one electromagnetic beam extending in the plane of the access opening, or opposite this opening, the detection means comprising at least one optical sensor for detecting the interruption beam when an object is in the access opening. Preferably, the detection means comprise a transmitter and a receiver, the transmitter having a light source for generating at least one light beam which passes through the access opening towards the receiver. The presence of an object in the access opening is then detected when the light beam does not reach the receiver. According to an advantageous embodiment of the device according to the invention, the detection means have a light curtain formed by light beams passing through the access opening and extending, preferably, parallel to each other. The invention also relates to a method for automatically cutting bread into slices with a bread slicer having a loading compartment adjacent to a set of blades comprising parallel oblong blades. The slicer has a pusher in the loading compartment which is movable between a retracted position relative to the blade assembly and an end of cutting position and which makes it possible to push a loaf through the assembly of BE2018 / 5483 blades while the blades are driven back and forth in their longitudinal direction. This method is characterized in that the presence of an object is detected in the access opening and when an object is detected while the blades are stationary and the pusher is in its retracted position, the movement of the blades and the movement of the pusher towards the end of cutting position is engaged to cut a sliced bread as soon as the presence of the object in the opening is no longer detected. Other details and particularities of the invention will emerge from the description given below, by way of nonlimiting example, of some particular embodiments of the device and of the method according to the invention, with reference to the attached drawings. Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of a slicer according to the invention having an open access opening. Figure 2 is a cross section along line I-I of Figure 1 showing the pusher in the retracted position. Figure 3 is a cross section along line I-I of Figure 1 showing the pusher in the end of cutting position. In the various figures, the same reference numbers relate to similar or identical elements. The device according to the invention, as shown in the figures, constitutes a bread slicer comprising a frame 1 with a loading compartment 2. A bread 3 to be cut into slices is introduced into the loading compartment 2 and is moved by means from a pusher 4 through a set of blades 5 to a receiving space 6. The set of blades 5 is adjacent to the loading compartment 2 and forms part of a wall of this compartment 2. When it is moved through the set of blades 5 the bread 3 is cut into slices. The blade assembly 5 generally comprises oblong blades 7 arranged parallel to each other which can undergo a reciprocating movement in their longitudinal direction. The loading compartment 2 has a substantially flat inclined base 8 on which a loaf 3 can be placed to be cut into slices. The bread 3 is introduced into the loading compartment 2 through an access opening 9. BE2018 / 5483 The pusher 4 is provided in the loading compartment 2 and is movable between a retracted position relative to the blade assembly 5, as shown in FIG. 2, and an end of cutting position which is illustrated in FIG. 3. In the retracted position, the pusher 4 is adjacent to the wall of the loading compartment 2 opposite the blade assembly 5. To allow the bread to be cut, it is important that it is placed between the blade assembly 5 and the pusher 4. After a bread 3 to be cut is placed between the pusher 4, which is in the withdrawn position, and the set of blades 5, a button 10 is pushed in order to start the cutting of the bread 3. The bread 3 is then advanced by the pusher 4 towards the set of blades 5 and by the action of the pusher 4, the bread 3 is moved through the blade assembly 5, the blades of which move back and forth, thus forming the slices of the bread 3. When the bread has completely passed through the blade assembly 5, the pusher 4 is in the end of cutting position, as shown in Figure 3, and the cut bread can be retrieved from the receiving space 6. At the end of the cutting of the bread 3, when the latter has completely passed through the blade assembly 5, the pusher 4 is returned from the end of cutting position to the retracted position and the movement of the blades 7 is stopped. Since the access opening 9 remains permanently open and, in particular, during the movement of the blades 7 for cutting bread, a security system is provided to ensure that the movement of the blades 7 and the movement of the pusher 4 are stopped immediately when a person inserts an object, such as a hand, into the loading compartment 2. This security system comprises detection means for detecting the presence of an object in the loading opening 9. As soon as an object is detected in the access opening 9 while the blades 7 are driven in a movement back and forth, the detection means send a signal to the drive of the blade assembly 5 to stop the movement of the blades 7. Preferably, the movement of the pusher 4 is also stopped when an object is detected in the access opening 9. Thus, it is ensured that it is not possible to contact the oscillating blades 7 with the hand through the access opening 9. After the object has been removed from the access opening 9, the slicer can be started by pressing the button 10 provided for this purpose. BE2018 / 5483 The detection means make it possible, in particular, to generate at least one electromagnetic beam 11 extending in the plane of the access opening 9 or parallel to this opening 9, or opposite the opening 9. When the beam is cut by an object which is in the access opening 9, the movement of the blades 7 and the pusher 4 are stopped. The detection means therefore comprise at least one optical sensor for detecting the interruption of the beam 11 when an object is in the access opening 9. The detection means may comprise a transmitter 12 and a receiver 13. The transmitter has at least one light source to generate at least one light beam 11 which passes through the opening 9. The presence of an object in the opening of access 9 being detected when the beam 11 does not reach the receiver 13. The detection means have, for example, a light curtain formed by light beams 11 passing through the access opening and extending in a plane, preferably parallel to each other, as shown in FIG. 1. According to the invention, the presence of the detection means, in particular, the light curtain, is also used to allow the automatic cutting of a loaf 3 to be started after it has been placed in the loading compartment 2. At this Indeed, the detection means cooperate with the drive of the blade assembly 5 and with the drive of the pusher 4. After cutting a loaf 3, the movement of the blades 7 is stopped and the pusher 4 is returned to the withdrawn position in order to receive a new loaf 3 to be cut. When the detection means no longer detect any object in the access opening 9, the cutting of the bread 3 is started automatically by moving the pusher 4 towards the end of cutting position and driving the blades 7 in a back and forth movement. Therefore, according to the invention, the detection means cooperate with the drive of the blade assembly 5 and with the drive of the pusher 4 so that, when the presence of an object in the opening of access 9 is detected by the detection means while the pusher 4 is in the retracted position, the movement of the blades 7 is triggered and the pusher 4 is moved from its retracted position BE2018 / 5483 towards the end of cutting position after the object is no longer detected in the access opening 9 by the detection means. Thus, it is not necessary to push a button or to undertake any other manipulation after the bread 3 has been placed in the loading compartment 2 to start cutting the bread 3. Preferably, the detection means also cooperate with a position sensor to detect the presence of the pusher in the retracted position. This sensor therefore makes it possible to verify that the pusher 4 is in the retracted position before driving the blades 7 and to advance the pusher towards the end of cutting position. The invention is of course not limited to the embodiments described above and shown in the appended figures, but many other variants could be envisaged without departing from the scope of the invention. Thus, it is not necessary that the detection means comprise one or more light beams, but other ways can be envisaged to detect the presence of an object in the access opening.
